Okay..I keep on having panic attacks and it is driving me insane!!! I need some help!!! Any advice??? I can't make them leave..I had a panic attack today that lasted over an hour...And the doc. is no help!The most he has done is tell me..."You are having panic attacks." Oh and the whole paper bag thing didnt work for me...

Perhaps, a doctor that is familiar with panic attacks vs anxiety attacks would be in order. A reputable psychologist and or psychiatrist is more appropriate for your needs. Your needs may be out of the scope of practice of your doctor.You wouldn't see an orthopedic surgeon (bone surgeon) to treat a brain tumor. Even if your doctor is in the psychology field, if he doesn't effectively treat you, you need someone who will.Remember, doctors are just practicing medicine. The paper bag only helps with the hyperventilation aspect of anxiety attacks. Relax and don't fight it.

Touch/monitor reality...you're NOT going insane or having a heart attack.

Cut out caffeine, sugar.

If you are having an attack, try doing something which makes you happy and where you can concentrate to get off of the "Brain Lock" cycle.

Btw----Taking a shower is a notorious place for Panic Attacks to occur due to the heat, steam, enclosed space......

High Quality Omega 3's may help but for some it can actually make Panic Attacks, Depersonalization and Derealization a lot worse.

Exercise can help a lot to burn off excess stress/anxiety.

When this happens, breathe in through your nose and out of your mouth. Also tighten up your stomach mucsles and hold it for as long as you can and repeat a couple times. If possible, lie down perfectly flat on your back. I hope this helps!

panic attacks are brought own by your fears or excitements..if it is fears face them and remember this they cant eat you or hurt you. excitements attacks you cry and realize that you are happy and face happiness...Laugh out loud...if it is coming from excitement...it will release it...God bless you Jesus tells us fear not for I am with you call own me when things get to tough to Handel...remember to do this...Satan is messing with your emotions...And always rember this a positive attitude is a magnet for positive results...
