I took my 6 year old son to the doctor's and they found protein in his urine? Can someone explain why ?

I have to take him back tomorrow, with a urine sample. Shoud I be worried about this?

My daughter checks for that and shes a type 1 diabetic....

no worries, it just means he's not eating enough protein.
I have protein in my urine as well, but that's due to discharge. Its easily fixable..with diet changes.
