If a movie is an orginal, not taped, what will happen if you do try to record the original movie to a VCR tape?? I have been told it might record blank, or have dark screen when you try to play the tape you just recorded. True??/

To my knowledge, you still have to get the VCR/DVD/Recordable DVD combination to allow that.

Just plug the output of the dvd player into the input of the vcr. Start the dvd playing and press record on the vcr. Should work unless it's a pre-recorded movie which will be copy protected.
