Somebody new what regiments were likely to be sent to Iraq.So somebody new by putting Harry into one of these regiments he would be sent to Iraq.
With the possibility of Harry being fathered by James Hewitt.(I'm not starting that rumour)but still Diana's son and royalty,if he was killed would that give the Government the public support to invade Iran,if they proved it was an Iranian insurgent/weapons responsible.
It has been in the news all day where he will be serving, what regiment and what he will be driving.Ok there are lots of armoured personel carriers but they will deffinately become a more choice target for attack

MOJO . My point IS that they are sending him to Iraq my question is: Is there an alternative reason that he was assigned to a regiment that was ear marked for deployment to Iraq.

Prince Harry's decision to go to war is not some Iran-war blackmail sceme.. thats rediculous and you know it..

As a newly graduated, top of his class military-school graduate... it's his duty and responsibilty.

"they will deffinately become a more choice target for attack"

I have the same concern.. please read this question i asked a few days ago.. since you seem interested on the topic.

I don't think he is being sacrificed. He will be surrounded by guards all the time. It will cost more to protect him and sending the muppet to Iraq than its worth. And no doubt he'll get a medal for being him. How can he be trained in the art of warfare after about 1 year and be a commander? He cant be that well trained compared to other jobs. Also I thinke he is Hewitts son too. He will be a prime target for every Iraqi rebel. A waste of time and money all the Royals are!

In a way it would seem so. But it's really crazy to me that he's to be sent after an announcement that his government will be pulling out approx. by the summer of 2008. I know it's not the same but if you look back over history many son's of royalty have either played war or have been sent into battle right before a war is over for that nation as a last statement of so-called monarchy sacrifice "we have given our own son in blood as you have given your own" type deal and then that would only be true if something happens to him. I think it's kind of crazy.

Hey do you think if Bush didn't have a pair of drunken girl twins and instead had a pair of sons, that they would be going off to Iraq like Prince Harry?

Prince Harry joined the military by choice, and if he did not want to go to Iraq the royal family could arrange it citing protecting royalty etc.... He is not being sacrificed, if anything it will boost the standing of the royal family and the British choice to go to Iraq by showing the royal family not only supports the decision to go to Iraq, but they are willing to go there and lead/show their countrymen and others in the world that they participate in difficult situations the country faces. If he is hurt or killed it will not give support to invade Iran, it might swing some support to Iraq, or boost military enlistment. Only time will tell on that one. I give Prince Harry kudos for putting himself out there and leading from the front.... maybe he is positioning himself for one day when he may take over the royal family.

for my area, i think fairly sorry for the guy. he's barely the spare inheritor to the throne, so won't in any respect get the prospect to fulfil his family individuals dedication. he's a soldier that's no longer being allowed to fulfil his dedication to his u . s . a .. What extra can he do? the clicking won't flow away him on my own the two. while he is going out with friends & gets below the effect of alcohol they image him & then say "tut, tut, isn't it poor". If he behaves like William they say he's only too stuffy & boring. They guy won't be able to win! The powers that be interior the army could have positioned his unit to Iraq a while in the past yet no longer reported it interior the clicking till he got here residing house. That way everybody might are starting to be what they wanted. He says he's bitter disappointed so maybe he will flow away that military now. i'm Scottish & even nonetheless there's a level of anti-english, anti-royal feeling here, i think of on the full the Scottish human beings admire the guy for attempting to do his accountability alongside his unit.

You don't know much about the British Army, do you? Prince Harry was not 'assigned' to the Blues & Royals, he chose them. Just as every other soldier does. Some applicants may not be accepted by their first choice but nobody is made to join a particular regiment/corps.

I can not believe that when the time comes's for him to go that he will, some how someone made a big mistake here if he would be kidnapped in Iraq what do you think would happen, maybe Tony Blair will stop his going but this is stupid to send a prince into a war zone? even England is not that dumb.

I bet this is more of a political move than anything. Having served in the military will only give you browny points if you were run for public office. Even if he goes to Iraq, with his influence, he will be given a desk job and will never see the battle field..

He is a soldier! Its expected that he will go to war to fight because that is what soldiers do. He is not Hewitt's son - that was proved by dna, read Burrells book. Its a war - everyone is a target. But most importantly - he's a soldier who is ready and willing to fight who deserves our respect. He's proving himself to be more of a man than most of the other Royals

i agree that publicising where he is going and his regiment, puts them in more danger. But harry had to fight his cornrer to be allowed to go, they didnt want him out there. harry is a very likeable lad and he seems to have credability with his age group.
When are the politicians going to send their sons. If they did they would be a news blackout. The press are being very sly publisising this. I hope he will be o.k. i like the kid.
