Absolutely, Mark 16:16 proves it. So do the following...

"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" 1 Peter 3: 21

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2: 38

"And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." Acts 22: 16

"For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." Galatians 3: 27

Many denominations take the last part of Mark 16:16 and say that since it doesn't say "he that believeth not and is not baptized shall be damned" that all you have to do is believe. They also ignore ALL of the rest of the verses that were posted here. The keyword is the word "and". He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved.

We are NOT saved by belief or faith only.

Mark 1 John tells us why John the Baptist came and started baptizing and it was for the removal of sins. Mark 16 tells us that we must believe and be baptized. Acts 2:38 tells us we must repent and be baptized for the removal of sins. 1 Peter 3 and 2 Peter 3 tell us that the same water that saved Noah is the same water that will separate us from the sins of the world and is as necessary as it was for Noah. Romans 6 shows why baptism is necessary as it is a remembrance of Christ's death, burial and resurrection and then Paul goes on to say if you are not resurrected in baptism then there is no resurrection for you. Last, Galatians3:27 is the only verse that tells you how to be in Christ as you are baptized into Christ.

Salvation requires the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is given to those who believe, repent and follow water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost is having the son.

It is wise to follow these simple directions as God is obligated to do His part if you do yours.

That being said, it has been noted that one can go down a dry sinner and come up a wet sinner. The final action is in the heart and that is what God looks upon. If the heart is right, He will take care of the details and make sure you get the external things in order.

While we should preach that all men are commanded to repent and be baptized (Acts 2:38), adding any other requirement to salvation by grace becomes "works" in disguise. Even though numerous Scriptures speak of the importance of water baptism, adding anything to the work of the cross demeans the sacrifice of the Savior. It implies that His finished work wasn’t enough. But the Bible makes clear that we are saved by grace, and grace alone (Ephesians 2:8,9). Baptism is simply a step of obedience to the Lord following our repentance and confession of sin. Our obedience— water baptism, prayer, good works, fellowship, witnessing, etc.—issues from our faith in Christ. Salvation is not what we do, but Who we have: "He that has the Son has life" (1 John 5:12).

Acts 2:38 says that we need to be baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. (we must ask for forgiveness first). We will then be given the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:4), this is a gift that is all wrapped up and waiting to be delivered to you. I got mine about 3 months after I was baptized. And when I started speaking in that unknown language, I was floating for days!! I was looking for this high all of my life, and it can be yours. Mark 16:17 will tell you the signs of a true believer!! I would not take any ones word for it. Experience it for yourself. Sin is not allowed in heaven and this is how we get rid of it and overcome our sinful nature!!

Baptism is a symbol of salvation. Jesus told the man on the cross next to Him that he would be with Him in paradise. That guy was not baptized before he died, but Jesus said he was saved (Luke 23:38-43). There are other examples in the new testament of people being saved by their faith, and not through baptism. Faith in Jesus Christ saves you, everything else that you do for him like baptism are obedience to Him, they are good works (it is good to be obedient, but doing good things alone won't save you). Ephesians 2:8-9 talks about being saved by faith and not by works. I hope that helps. God bless!

No, baptism is an outward witness of the change within. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
Eph 2:9 not of works, that not anyone should boast;

Act 2:21 "And it shall be that everyone who shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Act 15:11 But through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we believe to be saved, according to which manner they also believed.

Act 16:30 And leading them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved?
Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.
Act 16:32 And they spoke the Word of the Lord to him, and to all those in his house.

Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

NO it is not a requirement for salvation- Baptism is an outward expression of a inward transformation. You will desire to be baptized but Christ's death has paid completely for our sin.

No Salvation is required for baptism. The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.

Yes I do.

Not the one by water.

The one by The Holy Spirit.
You don't have it, you are not going to be saved.

Two baptisms, The Spirit is the one that counts. It is the seal of God's Spirit on your soul. It is taught today that you get it automatically, not so.

John 1:33 "And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, 'He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.'
