he can get a "permanant bridge",which is fake but real-appearing teeth which are fixed onto the remaining teeth on each side.this works very well.or he can have dental implants,a procedure in which fake teeth are attached directly into the bone of the jaw, where they are just like having ur real teeth back.

There are 2 things he can try. First and most economical is to have his upper denture trimmed back thru the palate into a horseshoe shape. That opens up the palatal area, but generally causes a loss of retention.
The only other option is to look into getting dental implants. They are great and allow the false teeth to be as close to what his natural teeth were. It's very expensive though, about $1000.00 a fixture, that's the osteo-integrated implant part that the denture is built on, which is surgically implanted under his gums. A full arch, like his upper, usually requires 5 or more implant fixtures to be a success. Big Bucks! That's just the cost of the implants ... the denture is more.
His lowers may be able to be crowned, but he needs to see a dentist for an evaluation first. He might require implants there too. 4 broken down teeth aren't enough to support a full-arch restoration.
I own a dental laboratory in Southern New Jersey and do implant-supported denture work. Prices vary by location, so do some research and get more than one opinion before starting anything.
By the way, the surgery is somewhat painful, but the mouth heals quickly and the pain passes is a short period of time.

I would say go for the denture, i know they can be a bit of a mouth full, but dental technicians can work wonders these days.
There is a new type of denture called a Flexi Denture, it's a lot smaller than most dentures and wont cover the whole of the roof of his mouth, admittedly it's more expensive than your average denture but a lot more sturdy, if it is dropped in the sink whilst being brushed it wont crack!
Implants would be another option, but these can work out very expensive, the dentist we refer our patients charges £2,00 per implant.
The lower teeth sound like retained roots, these need to be removed, a bridge would be an option, but if the dentist xrays the lower jaw and you bf has bone loss a bridge would not be suitable, so may a small lower denture may be the best thing.
Get him to book in with his dentist and go over the options available and good luck.
He could not have a bridge on his upper jaw as he has no teeth for the bridge to be attatched to!

Well with no teeth he can't have a bridge since he has no other teeth to cement the bridge too. The teeth he does have remaining don't sound like they would be strong enough to support a bridge. It sounds like these teeth need to come out too. The only other treatment other than dentures is to have implants, but these are almightly expensive (starting from £1000 per tooth approx). And to be honest if your boyfriend has lost most of his teeth, he has most likely lost them due to periodontal disease (loss of gum and bone tissue) and as a result it is unlikley that he would make a good candidate for implants, even if you could afford them. They are not available on the NHS either.

Well I would tell him to get over the problem w/ dentures because quite frankly the only other choice he has is to get the implants that are drilled into the jaw bone and that is a hell of a lot more painful then dentures, then again I wouldn't know because I have all of my teeth.

If he doesnt like dentures, he can also do a bridge on the upper and bridge on the lower, a bridge is not removable, or he can have implants done- but they are expensive...The best way is to have a bridge which will also cost you a lot of money, but less expensive than the implants

The bottom dentures will be pretty easy to wear since his tongue won't hit it all the time. They make inexpensive mini implants to help them stay in. The top ones will be expensive and will involve implants with bridges between them.

he could have them screwed in. there are many wonderful things a dentist can do these days, if he tells the dentist he can't stand anything over the roof of the mouth, he/she may be able to suggest a way (other than screwed ones) to fix teeth in.

IMPLANTS WOULD BE THE BEST OPTION IF HE DOESN'T WANT DENTURES. THESE CAN BE VERY EXPENSIVE. EXPECT TO BE OUT ABOUT $40,000 FOR IMPLANTS FOR BOTH UPPER AND LOWER.
INSURANCE DOESN'T PAY FOR THEM AT ALL.
WHY NOT?
THEY ARE TOO EXPENSIVE AND THE INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE CHEAP.
IMPLANTS HAVE TO BE CARED FOR JUST LIKE TEETH.
THE FACT YOUR BF DIDN'T CARE FOR HIS REGULAR GIVES LITTLE HOPE PROGNOSIS FOR ANY IMPLANTS.
TELL YOUR BF HE HAS NO HOPE BESIDES DENTURES.
