If you electronically file by midnight Thursday you will have a refund direct deposited in 7 days the following Friday. If you file in the days following you will have you deposit the following Friday. Unless you pay for "rapid refund" or some other refund anticipation loan you will get it any faster.

You don't "get your tax returns back" at all. You file a tax return. The IRS processes the tax return and maybe sends you a REFUND of overpaid taxes, or a BILL for the taxes due.

If you have a refund coming and insist on having it within 5 days or less, you'll have to go to one of the tax prep mills and pay them an outrageous amount of interest for the privilege of getting your money a week or two early. That's on top of rather high fees just for the preparation of your return.

Those "refund anticipation loans" have interest rates of around 2,533% APR. And the smaller the refund, the higher the rate. I know loan sharks that charge less vig.

If you insist on making a fat-cat even fatter, go for it. But unless you're about to be evicted and tossed into the street or need to put food in your kids' mouths, save yourself some $$$ and wait the extra week or so.

If you pay for a Refund Anticipation Loan you can get the refund quicker. I would not recommend it though, the fees can be quite steep.

My advice...Just wait the 8-15 days and be glad you have your whole refund.
