We have no idea. Do you want a big dog, a small dog, a hairy dog, short coated dog, male or female, a white dog, a black dog, a puppy or does the age matter, a hyper dog, a laid back dog, what temperament are you looking for,.......................................
There are a million in one things to consider before getting a dog. A house dog, outdoor dog,...................................
This is your choice and it is up to you and your mom as to what you can afford if you want a pure Breed dog, or settle for a mutt. Does the breed have the charactor you want, it just goes on and on.
We can't tell you what you should get, that is YOUR choice.

if u want a playful dog try getting a puppy.
i think u should try a terrier because my dad is looking for a dog like that. he says their very nice dogs and are really playful
i had oneonce and she was a puppy and was the cutest thing.
she was very playful.
u could also try a labador or retriver too

Think about one that will fit in life style. Our best dog was an otter hound but he was a big dog. We have a hound/lab mix and he's good with our little boy. Good luck !

you need to decide first the size of dog you want, then coat length you are willing to maintain...then research each breed you are considering. Whatever you choose, make sure you understand the breed & are willing to provide what it need rather than thinking only how cute it is now & that it will change to suit you.

I personally think cocker spaniels are excellent. I have one and it's easier to keep their har short (( see photo )) then you don't have to worry about grooming as often and they can be playful but they are also laid back. The worst thing you have to worry about with cocker spaniels is ear infections.
