Hapuna. Can get very crowded though when the surf is up.

Rentals boards are made of inferior material so it's up to you if you want to bring your personal boogieboard or not. Also, check with the airlines you're flying on, they may consider your boogieboard as a piece of luggage.

Watch for the shorebreaks, it can get dangerous! No fun getting slammed into sand (talk about rash!) and injuring yourself.

Aloha!

During the winter Hapuna Beach north of Kona.

During the summer, Pine Trees south of the airport

During the fall?

Yes there are rentals but I am unsure of the brands or quality.

Hapuna Beach is very nice. Yes there are rentals available. However if you come to Hilo, check out the local surf shop on Kamehameha Ave. The owner is an avid surfer and can point you in the right direction. His name is Stan. Have fun!!
