Up to 25% of people have an extra or "accessory" spleen, sometimes more than one. It is considered a normal variant. Usually the extras are much smaller, but act as kind of a reserve. If your spleen has to be removed for trauma, the smaller one/s can enlarge somewhat to take over the function of the original. If this is her only problem, your lucky.

No known problems regarding her health, shouldn't be an issue.

wow, twice as good at fighting off infection?!
Her doctor should be able to give a more medical explanation rather than yahoo answers.
