Have you not heard of Desalination?

If you live anywhere near an ocean, chances are you are drinking ocean water.

To beautify and give variety to the face of the earth.
Plus, you've got to admit that oceans have given a lot of people peace. Plus, the mysteries of the deep have helped us learn about God's creations in science. And I think a few cures for diseases have been found from the oceans.
Also, if we lived in a world with nothing that was potentially dangerous, we would have nothing. Everything is potentially dangerous. It's worth the risk to make life worth living.

there is actually technology that has allowed us to make drinkable water from the ocean so god made someone curious and smart enough to think and act on that. it is called desalination

Because fish and other creatures live in there who depend on each other for survival... And people eat fish.
