No. Colonscopies are for all ages. Particularily in your situation you may have GI complaints, IBS, something of that nature. It's not fun; the colonscopy is fine in and of itself because your happily knocked out, it's the Go Lightly that is a real drainer for patients.

I would not be concerned at this point, your doctor is doing everything he/she can to assist you so you can be on your way to feeling better and sometimes the diagnostics we order is to rule out more than rule in.

Good luck and hopefully you'll be feeling better soon!!

you don't mention why you are being sent for a colonoscopy. the test is done with a camera to visualize the interior of your colon. there is no other way to do this. it has nothing to do with age. because of the symptoms you gave to your doctor, the test is necessary.
your best emotion at this time would be relief.

I am 28 yrs old and i had one a few months ago. I was very worried about it, everyone told me not to be that it was nothing, even my 92yr old grandma recently had one, but i was still stressin' once i got there and got in my gown they notice how nervous i was and gave me a seditive, then when they rolled me back to op room they gave me something else--i had to have and endoscopy also, i only remember about 5 seconds of it. then i woke up back in the room i was orginally in and the doc came in, told me the results and persciptions..I got all worked up about for nothing---i have colitis--i took my meds and i'm better now.

If you've been having gut problems, be thankful that you have a doc that will check! Yes It's recommended if you're over 40, but most people have had problems long before that age!

Depends on the reason your dr is sending you... I don't think you are too young though.
