any credible dentist worth his salt should be able to perform this procedure.

I would suggest that you be seen by the OS or the dentist who did the implant work, and do so before you go on vacation. It's difficult to give you a direct answer without knowing the case; are you in a temporary or just the healing screws, does the tissue feel swollen, and is there any drainage? These are just a few questions that need to be answered. If you are wearing a temporary, it could be loose or the bite could be too high which can actually cause the implant to fail. I wouldn't suggest going on vacation without having this checked out by your dentist or since he's out of town, his emergency dentist who is handling all of your dentist calls while he is away. When your out of town it's difficult enough to find a dentist who is willing to take care of a problem, but even more so with a procedure such as yours. No, this isn't considered a minor thing when out of town. Not every dentist is willing or even capable of taking care of a implant problem, other than with medication. I won't go into the high cost of seeing an emergency dentist for something like this, but you can imagine. I hope that you get this checked before you leave and that your vacation plans aren't delayed. Hopefully it's healing fine and just hasn't tightened up as much as the other one has. Either way, have a safe and wonderful trip! Additional information: Your additional information of the sensation that you are experiencing isn't the normal healing sensation of an implant. As I stated earlier, see your OS or dentist before your trip to avoid any serious complications. Leaving the implant in place while it's loose for an extended period of time, even with the healing screw on, isn't advisable.

The dentist should have done it correctly to start with. Don't do it yourself, and try not to damage the implant until then, but find any competent dentist quickly.
