I have curly, chin-length hair, and I am looking for an updo I can wear to a Winter Ball tonite. I'm pretty crafty, so I wouldn't mind a challenge. Curling my hair with a curling iron or hair curlers is not an option, due to both time and lack of equipment.

Please help, any assistance is welcome!

What i think looks super cute is to start in the front of your face near your hairline, twist the hair straight back and pin it about 2-3 inches back from your face with a bobby pin or two. Repeat all around until you've got all your hair up. If you want it to look "perfect" make sure they each go in a straight line, however, if you think messy is cuter, have them criss-cross over each other. Make sure to shalack in place with hairspray before you leave. A decorative clip/pin would add a level of class to the messy do.

How about pinning up the sides or using a very, very thin bandeau type accessory to pull the hair back? Also, you are so lucky to have such curly hair. You could keep things simple and leave your lovely locks alone and focus on a pretty lipstick shade and a great dress.
Don't try to fight it. Try to work with it!

i have super curly hair.

you could grab 3 or 4 DRY curls and pin them so that you just have a mess of hair on top of your head

or grab 3 or 4 WET curls and twirl them into rosebuds and pin them at the back of your head. it will look pretty from the back but from the front you will look like you have no hair because it pulls it back so tight.
