Around Christmas I caught a horrible stomach bug which gave me diorreah. Ever since I have been having terrible stomach pains and always need to go to the toilet. I am sometimes constopated but i mostly get bad stomachs. It often occurs in the morning and disrupts my whole day. I have seen a doctor who told me to change my diet which I have but it seems to be getting worse. I am only a teenager and it is disrupting my life. Family have told me it may be a food allergy or IBS. Does anyone have similar problems and how do you deal with them?

Simplest Cleansing Diet

It should always include, Doctor’s exam to make sure you are fit, to under take such diet.

It must start out with one day of fast. That day you do not eat any solid or liquid food, you just drink water all day minimum one gallon.

Next morning you break the fast with lime lemon juice in a glass of water and about half hour or so later, eat Yogurt 4 Oz plain no fruits (Dehi/curd), if possible get full cultured non pasteurized kind, Danon in USA has Actinia.

Eat other two meals of plain boiled rice and 4Oz each of Yogurt, the total calories for the day must be under the calories required per chart given by Bio-Mass-Index (you can find it on Internet guide line for first 3 days about 1700 calories).

Do this for 2 more days but add boiled rice for morning break fast, again must watch total calories in take. You can other wise you will put on weight. You may skip lime lemon water but it will help to use it very day.

On fourth day you can start adding one more food at a time and start using your normal food after 15 days.

The beauty of this is you can also find out what foods are not compatible with your digestive system. This way you can avoid them in future.

This can be done as required when your stomach feels heavy.

I recommend once a year or so, even if you feel fine.

Hint:

You need to drink gallon of fluid, every day, most of it have to be water.

Stomach Gas Problem
By
minootoo

If you have not seen a doctor please see one.

How is the gas normally formed?

Gas is formed during all stages of digesting process, in all parts of the system.

There are enzymes, acids and bacteria....... they break down what we take in, solid or liquid or gases (if you are a smoker some smoke will end up in the system).

This process of breaking down produces gases. The gasses come out through upper or lower exists depending on where they are formed if all valves are performing.

The problem happens when;
1. There is over production.
2. Malfunction mainly of various valves in the systems.

During weekly fasting days – how to control? - The Pt is-male(38).

I am glade that you are believer in fasting.

But I do not know what kind of fast you follow.

The best thing you can do is fast, with water only, you must take in a gallon of water every day fasting or not. Water is a universal purifier. It will regulate the acids ....

Stomach Gas problem?

After a day of fasting, you should eat for whole day only yogurt and rice for all three meals. Yogurt should be non pasteurized kind (Curd or Dehi), Danon in USA is selling a bran name "Actinia" use that. Pesturiezed Yogurt does not have the enzymes that help solve the gas problem.

Now you can slowly introduce one new food item per day and see how your system reacts. But with all meals you must eat some Yogurt. If you have the problem, you will know what food to blame or avoid. Simple well cooked food causes less problem then non cooked items. You must not use spicy food in the beginning and introduce them slowly one at a time.

How to control my food?

You must eat what you need i.e. amount of total calories intake. I have two articles that I will include that should help. FYIO.

Which food is better?

Yogurt should be included in small quantity with all meals in your case till the problem is solved. Gallon of water should be taken every day even after the problem is solved.

Which food is to be avoided?

This I have answered and showed you the way to find out.

Which food is better?

Well cooked simple food is batter. You must eat so that you are going to keep some room for two helping of your favorit desert but take one helping of it only. Do not starve but you must have some room for the gasses to form during the process of digesting.

Which medicine is better?

If you follow the above you should not need medicine. Some time you like to eat certain food say at a party then there are lots of non prescription stuff that is available to you, at local pharmacy, they all work but some will work batter for you have to try and use what works best, some of this you can take before the party.

Tea/Coffee to be avoided completely or not?

By same process you can find this out, slowly introduce in small quantity and see what happens.

According to the present company provided food/accommodation, it is not possible to avoid Refrigerated and Microwave food – So what to do – or how to manage these food and when (Day time, evening, night).

How the food is cooked or kept is not important Refrigerated and Microwave food. The food is not be spoiled, watch out for dates, once the package is opened, use the same up as soon as you can. Take out the food in a plate put away the rest first in the refrigerator then warm up. Food should be kept out of refrigerator least amount of time. Smell the food, look at the food does not look right or smell right is not right.

PS

Once you start eating all the food, it may help, if you eat 6 small meals instead of 3 large meals.

Go back to your doctor and be insistant because you are a teenager your doctor will probably be reluctant to test for IBS or Chrones disease because they are more common in older people especially chrones disease my niece became very ill when she was 13 up until then she had been fine it was only because my sister read an article in a magazine about chrones disease and went to back to the doctor and insisted she was tested that she found out it was that. Other than that make a note of everything you eat and try to cut out a different thing each day to see if there is anything that makes you feel like that way. It could just be a food allergy if i eat pork it makes my stomach very sore to the point im doubled over in pain. Have a look at this website and if you think the symptoms are similar to yours go to your doctor. Good look.

I had a friend with similar problems--she had caught some sort of bacterial bug that "lived" in her stomach. Oddly, eating some honey might help because honey kills off some bacteria. Other things that can help your stomach symptoms are peppermint (tea, gum, etc.), triscuits, saltines. Avoid eating large amounts of greasy foods and gassy foods and carbonated beverages.

They also could be right on with the food allergy or IBS. You want to rule out an allergy to wheat (gluten allergy) although migraines is usually the main symptom of that.

if you are using diorreah or constepation relif to balance out the problem it could be making it worse and taken to often they can quickly damage internal organs.
Some of your symptoms if you arent using this relif sound like IBS
you need to see a doctor and dont feel shy to ask for tests not just be fobbed off

Hope you feel better

I have IBS. It sounds like what I have had. I hate to eat because of the problem the food causes further on down the line. I am trying L-glutamine, an amino acid which may help this condition. Here is information on l-glutamine and other dietary supplements:

http://www.sfpmg.com/inflammation.html

I do use magnesium and ground flax seeds. They have helped me some.

Here a group on IBS, you may get some support or help here:

I have spent thousands of dollars for various treatments for migraine and IBS. I have fasted, eaten minimal diets, taken herbs, gone for rounds of colonics, naturopaths, etc.
I wanted to pass on the essence of what has helped me.
