He and I are a true 'love at first sight' story. We met at a welcome home party of an unbeknownst-to-us mutual friend. He was sitting at a table, I walked by as I was leaving and put my arm on his shoulder, as sort of a combined hello and goodbye, he jump a little and grabbed my arm. We talked for a few moments and he asked me for my telephone number - that was a Saturday. We went out on a first date the following Friday where he told me that when I touched him, he felt a jolt, like electricity go through him all the way down to his feet, which is why he jumped. We went on a second date (two days later) and knew we were in love… we've been together ever since. We started talking marriage after the first two weeks of dating, though it seemed crazy to our friends, it made perfect sense to us. I knew he would propose on Christmas, but he, wanting it to be a surprise, told me he couldn't pull it off - it would have to wait until after the New Year. We’ll have a very large combined family; he has four children from a previous marriage, and I have five. On Christmas all of our nine children were together, it was wonderful as we both love children. He lined them up from smallest to oldest, and gave them each a bubble gum machine ring (he would often joke that he was giving me a bubble gum engagement ring). He called me downstairs and I came down griping about the mess the children left upstairs; hands full of plates and torn gift wrap paper. When I got downstairs the children began to walk toward me putting their fake ring in my hand, after the third or fourth child I started to get the drift. I dropped the trash and before long I had nine fake rings in my cupped hands and I was in tears. He was at the end of the line, on one knee, pro-offering my real ring - a beautiful Tiffany-set, 2.04 round carat solitaire! He didn't have to say the words, because words were not necessary. I cried my yes and we stood there, embracing and crying, with our children around us. Finally one of the kids yelled "put it on her" and he did. The ring, like him, fit perfectly. We're getting married September 22, 2007. In case you're wondering, yes, I of course kept the "fake" rings. I will cherish them and the memory of that day forever.

My husband proposed to me after we had dated for about 3 1/2 weeks. It actually caught us both off guard.
Here in Missouri, we have Silver Dollar City, and during the winter the decorate then entire park with over 1 million lights. We were standing by a cascading (light) water fall, all alone, and he looked at me and asked, "Would you marry me, right now, if you could."
I said yes in a heart beat. He didn't have a ring or anything. Later he told me that if he thought that those words would escape his mouth, he would of been prepared...
We were married 3 1/2 months later. Going on three years, I can still remember how excited we were, how beautiful it was, and most of all, how unprepared the both of us were.
One of those moments that never escape, thankfully...

I just got my proposal this past Sunday! Since he had a whole day free (rare) he asked if I'd like to go to a few wineries in New York (about 2 hrs from home)-when we got to one of our favorites (1st stop of the day) we did the tasting, and on the final bottle, the girl said 'today we're sampling a special bottle' and she turned it around and there was a special label on it that said M, Will you Marry Me? R, and the ring was dangling from a cord around the neck of the bottle! It was wonderful and a total shock! All I could say was "are you serious" a million times...we have a blast on Sunday!

properly you didnt point out how long you have been at the same time...it truly is often between the main important components. besides that, there are such somewhat some issues which could effect this kind of existence determination. Are you the two in a sturdy profession spot and financially sturdy? yet another ingredient to undergo in ideas is that each and every person, even couples that are 18 years previous "communicate' pertaining to to the destiny....(its consistently exciting wishing eventhough they are no longer waiting). while you're severe then you definitely 2 might desire to have a severe communique approximately once you think of you men will pass the subsequent step. You dont might desire to invite him to propose, you're in simple terms asking "Whats next and while"? additionally I observed somewhat some people stated the "nerves". while my hubby ultimately proposed we were at the same time for 8 years and he became shaking while he asked me...(Like i might have stated "no")

My fiance said I wouldn't know when he did it. But he overheard a convo between my best girlfriend & me. She had gotten engaged during that time. She was talking about her ring & she didn't like yellow gold. She had recieved white gold like she had prefered. I had said I didn't like yellow gold either. In turn I heard him say something about getting a yellow gold ring. I knew he was disappointed in buying yellow. It really didn't matter to me. I was gonna accept whatever was given to me happily because it would be a gift from the heart. A few weeks later we went to this nice little Italian place. It was a very romantic atmosphere. Little awnings over the windows, rod iron railings outside. It was like walking down the street in Italy. Inside was just as romantic . Low light, small tables, great authentic food ,& wine. I was still on to his plan from his behavior but never let him know I was. I could tell he was nervous all through the meal & desert. When we were finished eating and it was about time to leave. I thought he lost his nerve. Then he proceded to tell me how much he loved me & wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. After his professions of love and a future together. I looked up and before I knew it he was on one knee kissed me & asked me to marry him. I was still shocked even though I thought I was prepared. I blurted out "HUN ,YOU BIG DUMBASS"! lol Then I said " yes". Guess what? The ring was white gold! He took the old one back & bought what I wanted! It was VERY sweet! It was the most romantic day of my life!

He had the ring dangling on the inside of a clear ornament and hanging on the Christmas tree. On Christmas eve he gave me a poem and in it he stated I had to find one more gift on the Christmas tree. I found it and he got down on one knee and proposed. It was very sweet....and I still have the clear ornament 16 years later!

My fiance had the ring for a few weeks before the wedding, when he got it he showed everyone but me, and had me try the ring on, but i could not look at it. a few weeks later we were camping up at Mackinaw and my fiance told me he had the day planned out for Saturday. We went for a drive in the UP and in St. Ignace he had hired a plane to fly us to Mackinac Island. From there he had a horse and carriage pick us up and take us for a drive. We went to Fort Holmes wondered around there looking at the view. on our way down the steps in the woods and he had me turn around, and put the ring on my finger. we had been dating 5 1/2 years

Well, he had always said it was going to be a surprise for me.
He planned this whole weekend away for us. I KNEW it was going to be that weekend...the way he'd been acting; plus I was the one who booked ALL the vacations we took and he did this one all by himself. I told EVERYONE that this was it (we'd been dating for 4 and a half years), he was proposing that weekend.
Well he said he wanted to take me out to eat at this restaurant we were supposed to go to for our 4th aniversary but never made it to. On Wednesday, he called and made reservations. He said so that we couldn't back out. We were supposed to go out that Saturday (the weekend before our trip). Dinner, then a movie. I had to work all day, got home around 4:30 and sat down to talk to my mother. He called around 5, asking if I was ready yet. Our reservation wasn't until 7:30 and it was about 5 minutes from his house. Um...no, I have to shower and get dressed. I hung up and started complaining to my mother. I didn't want to spend the money (it was an expensive restaurant) we were supposed to be saving for a house, blah, blah. My mother (who is the one to yell at me if I spen $1 on a coffee that I could have got for free at home) told me that we both (my fiance and I) worked hard, had full-time jobs, and deserved to have a good time so don't let the price dictate the night. (Should have thought something then) I got ready and went to his house. My jeans and a t-shirt guy was all decked out (as was I). He was pacing back and forth with a baseball game on (he gets kinda into it...Red Sox fan, what can I say). We left his house and went to eat. I got the tiniest hole in my nylons on the way there, so while we were waiting to be seated I pressed my leg against his, so he could hide the hole (I had told him why I was doing it). He jumped up and started playing with a book of matches. I was a little peeved, but whatever. We sat to eat and he asked me how my day was. I told him, and kept talking 'cause he wasn't. Finally, after about an hour, I told him I was hungry and it was his turn to talk so I could eat my food. His first question? How was your day? My "little peeved" escalated a bit. Then the waitress came over to ask how everything was. He said he was all set, so I had to give up my meal, too. I was starving, but couldn't eat if he wasn't! She asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. He asked if she could give us a minute. Hello...starving girlfriend and you're sending the food lady away. I was beginning to be NOT happy. Then he stood up, took a deep breath, and got down on one knee. I started crying right away. I couldn't even hear what he was saying. All I could think was, "Which is my left hand?" When he was done, I held out my hand. He put the ring on, we kissed, he sat down. The whole place was saying, "oh, look, he's proposing" and "they're getting engaged" Everyone started clapping when he sat down. Then he had to ask me again, since I hadn't answered the first time. I was crying so much, I couldn't even see the ring!! It was (is) exactly what I wanted, and fit perfectly.
Turns out he had asked my parents permission earlier in the week, so they knew. He was pacing because he was nervous (I should have known, it wasn't even the RS playing!). And he jumped when I pressed my leg against his because the box with the ring was in that (cargo) pocket and he was afraid I'd feel it. And the rest, as they say, is history. We're getting married June 2nd.
