At most Morrison's supermarkets, you can get a big tub of henna intense conditioner. Its in a 500ml white cylindrical tub and its really good for rescuing damaged hair - its a thick purple gloop, not like anything I've ever seen before! I'm always amazed at how it improves my hair and makes it really soft and shiny.

This is sort of gross, but it really does work: mayonnaise. Just plop in on clean semi dried hair, work it through and put a bag on over your hair and then a towel over that to keep it all together. Keep it on for about 15-20 minutes and then rinse, and then shampoo again. You will smell like a salad, but your hair will be shiny and healthy looking. Mashed up avocado and olive oil work really well too, but both of these methods are messy. But they are very cheap, always available, and they really do work. They actually work better than anything else, even the expensive treatments, it's just that sometimes I don't have time for the mess etc...
The Aussie 3 min miracle is very good, and Garnier makes a hair conditioner/moisturiser in a little pot that works very well, but I can't recall the exact name. Garnier products are very moisturising.

Try Henna treatment wax. It doesn't colour your hair but it conditions it beautifully. Apply it after shampooing to damp hair and comb it through. Then wrap your head in warm damp towels. Leave the wax on for 30 minutes. After this time you can either shampoo it out or if your hair is really badly damaged simply rinse your hair thoroughly. You only need to do this once a week so you should have loads of time at the weekend. After a very short period of time you should have really shiny manageable hair. Also if you heat treat your hair alot try using a heat protection spray that will protect it from further damage

As dumb as it may sound...the moisturizers that come in the hair-dye kits are SO nice! I don't dye my hair anymore, but I bought a box of Feria hair color the other day just to use the moisturizer...it's really intensive because it's preventing the dye from drying out your hair. I used it right after shampooing and then 2 weeks later again, and it's been about 3 months since I've had any split ends of anything!
I also use Herbal Esscences and SAMY brands leave in conditioner when my hair is still wet/damp. They are wonderful and really cheap!
Good luck!

Take a very ripe avacado and mash it up to use as a conditioner. Rinse your hair well. This is better than any other conditioner on the market and your hair will have a gorgeous sheen!

no need to buy an intensive moisteriser, just wash hair, towel dry, put in usual moisteriser and leave in for as long as you can even over nite is ok then wash out.
