My mom never was a great cook. Her food was edible, but not *nearly* as good as her mom's (my grandmother's). My grandmother was taught to cook by her mom (my great grandmother). So, to answer your question, I do not cook like my mom. I cook like Granny (great-grandmother) used to. Low-carb this and fat-free that be damned--I love to cook and I definitely LOVE to eat!

It's more like I try to cook like my grandma. Grandma's food was always the best. And the recipes are either non-existent or lost. So I always try to recreate what I remember from when I was a kid.
