if there is a warrant out for a failure to appear on a traffic ticket in California, can that person move to Texas and get a new driver's license? will Texas check California records or does each state operate independently. So basically, the question, does someone have to clean up their record in Ca in order to get a license in Texas?

Yes, both California and Texas are reciprocal states - meaning, they share information with other states.

You won't be able to get the license in Texas, and worst of all, could be arrested on the warrant when you show up at the DMV.

Yes, you can get a license in Texas, but they will take your California license away from you.

You can work around that by telling them that you lost your California license. Then they make you sign an affidavit that its lost and you can keep the CA license and have a Texas License too. This is assuming that you get the suspension cleared on the California end.

Just do not get pulled over and let a Texas Cop see that you have both!

Nope. You will need a birth certificate or some picture id to even apply, and when they find out your CA license is suspended they won't issue you a TX one until to pay off whatever fines there are in CA. Fix it before you move then you can get a TX license w/o testing by turning in the CA license.

If the person says they have never had a license before then they have to go through the written and driving tests they can. But if after all that they get caught in a background check they will have a notice to appear in Texas.....Why don't people act as adults and be responsible for when they have their head up their you know what.......I guess I could have said Butt

They will run your soc and find out that you have warrants. You can not avoid the law by moving to another state. You will not be able to et a new license.

If your license is suspended in any state, you won't be able to get one in another.
