Be honest with both the guys. tell the one you asked that you now have a steady boyfriend and think it is only right you take him to the prom with you and tell your boyfriend you had asked the other guy befor the two of you became a 2 some.
Maybe the guy you asked will be understanding and say take your boyfriend

Tell him and take the boyfriend if you are sure you are still going to be bf and gf by the time prom comes around, for prom night, unless its a long term affair going with just a male friend takes a lot of the tension out of the whole deal and leaves you free to make connections without a possibly unhappy (now) ex bf.

Depending on who this guy is, he should understand that now that you have a boyfriend, it is almost your obligation to take him. But then who knows; maybe by prom you won't be with the same boyfriend and having that backup guy might not be such a bad idea.
If the topic comes up, don't avoid it with him. But I'd let it be - he may just assume you'd be going with your boyfriend anyway.

Let him know that you have a boyfriend now and you would like for him to take you. You wasn't using him or anything but at the time you didn't have a boyfriend but now you do. You are deeply sorry if you hurt him but you think it is best that you tell him now before the last minute.

tell the guy you asked that you sort of jumped the gun. See if he can get another date. If not, talk to the BF and tell him about the prom date and maybe you can all go together.

Tell him the truth. Let him know that you intended on taking him but that you are seeing someone now. Don't wai around until hte last minute to tell him. Give him a chance to find someone else to take.
