I am mother of the bride and as it is her dad and I that are paying for our daughter's wedding this year we have taken out Wedding Insurance. Previously had other family married and did not take out insurance and everything went fine but after looking carefully in to it, in our case it seemed a good idea. The £45 will be the total cost of the Wedding Insurance and a one off payment. This covers almost everything you have to pay out for the wedding and also loss of deposits, photos needing to be re done, close familly illness/death etc etc. What it doesn't cover is if just one or other of the couple decide to call off the wedding. I have went with a company called E&L and paid I think about £60 but thier first Wedding Insurance package was something like £43 but you also have to look at the amount of cover and depending on what your outlay is likely to be decide on the cover you require. I am not going to particularly recommend the company I have chosen as thankfully have not had to make any claims with them. What I would say is type in wedding insurance uk online, read everything and also there will be telephone numbers you can check for any questions you feel you require answered. It works like every other insurance and naturally it will not cover things like a close family member already being diagnosed with a terminal illness and having to cancel the wedding but it would cover if close family illness occurred after taking out the policy. I honestly felt it was the thing to do this time. The last wedding we paid for, just one example was the reception hotel asked for a deposit of £250, this time the hotel deposit was £1,000 and a further £1,000 deposit was to be paid out 6 months before the wedding, plus all other deposits so it soon mounts up. With the policy I have and I presume with most it covers deposits or things paid out by others in relation to the wedding. This is good as sometimes, groom, mother-in-law etc pays things. The insurance company will stipulate that you must have a valid contract for everything you book which is fair enough. Hope this helps. All the best.

wedding insurance would cover things such as if your shop your dress was ordered through went bust as was in the news last year. those brides who didnt have insurance lost all the money they had paid and their dress. insurance would pay out for your loss. it covers firms going bust, things going wrong, ie your marquee not turning up or turning up damaged. it usually also covers having to rearrage or poatpone the wedding due to illness etc. the payment is a one-off. look at confetti.co.uk they do theyre own wedding insurance and it explaijns online what they cover

People often have wedding insurance because so many companies go into liquidation and you can never get your deposits back etc. Or should you have to cancel everything last minute due to illness or death. But to be honest, money doesn't replace that kind of thing anyway.

Getting married is expensive enough without adding to your bill.
Providing you are sure that your dates are confirmed with everything you need you should be fine.

Best wishes for your future together.

I'm not a bride but I'll still answer.

If you have a contract with each of your vendors, you don't need insurance. And if you have paid with a credit card, you have recourse should something go wrong.

Insurance pays you the money you invested but they don't supply you a vendor that does't show up to your wedding! And a person is entitled to their wages but not the money expended on the materials.....a judge will always rule that way.

Wedding insurance will end up being a waste of your money most likely. It covers stuff that most likely won't happen.

But I do have a site you can look into: http://www.wedsafe.com/

Hope this helps you make the right decision.

And Congrats!

whilst you're asking some brides-MAID then traditionally the ladies purchase thier very own outfits yet whilst the bride desires to make contributions then she must be waiting to. it fairly is the two to make the outfits a latest or to subsidise the value of the costume you have chosen or some thing comparable. whilst you're asking some brides-MATE then if the guy isn't gay and additionally you desire him to positioned on a costume which he won't be in all hazard to ever positioned on lower back then the bride ought to sponsor or pay for his costume. If the guy is gay or might definately positioned on the costume lower back then he could be taken care of as the different bridesmaid and assumed to pay for the costume himself till the bride desires to make contributions.

wedding insurance covers anything that may go wrong, like a vendor not showing, or gifts being stolen. so if you're having a small wedding, you might not have to worry about it. it's not necessary if you don't think anything like that will happen.

I work in the insurance business, & I have NEVER heard of wedding insurance. I think if there is a company that is offering it to you, dont take it.
