If you socialize them right, and give them lots of POSTIVE exposure to little children at a young age (preferably between 10 weeks-16 weeks as this is the most impactful socialization period). They will trust little children and not be afraid of their in-your-face rude nature...i.e. running directly at a dog, cornering them, pulling tails, petting their head hard and fast (how would you feel if some random stranger did this to you). But yeah if they get positive exposure at a young age..they will trust them and like them. I.e. before a little kid even gets near your kid, block em off..tell them to walk slowly..crouch. and let the dog sniff their hand and when the dog comes closer.then they can tickle/pet..under the chin and when the dog is more trusting..then on the head..ears etc..but they can never extend forward..only let the dog come to them. Oh and treats work as well.

We have 2 older pugs and they have never bit or hurt our children in any way. They are very good dogs to have with small children. I would recommend a pug over any other breed to have around small children.

They can be if they are properly trained and the kids are careful with them, but dont ever leave the two unsupervised, because pugs have thouse big eyes that could get injured so easily. My pugs are great natured and spend lots of time with people of all ages. but It also depends on the dog.

It depends. I have been around some pugs that are great with kids and others that have been not so great with kids. Also, if they children are still really small I would stay away from small and medium sized breeds because the child my accidentally hurt the puppy.

My cousin had a Pug and it was VERY skittish and skittish dogs are not good around small children as the children are very active and that seems like sudden quick moves to the dog.

Pugs are wonderful dogs ..Any dogs are good with children if brought up correctly..some dogs are known to be difficult with children..pugs are okay.We have 2..They snore, snuffle at things look funny..like to hide shoes/slippers..will chew things love to rip the newspaper to shreds..and will scratch the door to the wood...they are heavy to lift up as they get stocky..and will eat almost anything..so have a tendency to get fat..But they love a cuddle...and will lick your face if your not careful..but they are great pets..

any breed is good with children if it is given the proper training and socialization. Please never leave your pup unsupervised around any dog no matter what size. I have a boston terrier and an american bulldog who are great with my children but have never been left alone at any point with them. good luck

Depends I guess. But, the ones I knew were cranky.

Try this site. Take the quiz and they will pair you up with a good breed for you!

They can be as long as the child is taught to respect animals and how to act around them....AND the child is properly supervised while around the dog.
