Ther tannons very hgh pigment colors in wine can DEFINATELY make your stool look dark purple or even black. If you have any Bright red in your stool - then this would not be something associated with red wine. If your are really concerned, you should switch to a white wine for a few days (yet I know this sucks when you are a fan of the almighty wonderful red......) But you should not worry too much. Darker colors and even black (medially speaking is an indication of blood in the stool) HOWEVER, anything you eat that is very dark in color (especially, wine - berries and even wheat grass and cloraphil suppliments will change the tint/color of your latest "Steamer" (ha ha ha).

I know how you feel though. It can be a little un-nerving when you see a drastic change in stool..........

Good Luck - Happy drinking.......

P.S> It never hurts to drink one glass of water per glass of wine. It won't kill your buzz - but WILL keep your brain and body hydrated and may also ease up on the darkness....

Good Luck - Hope I eased your mind a bit.

Probably not. Beets will. If the red persists you really need to go to the Doc. Sorry
