They should even though it might confuse these fools online.
Most people are ignorant, hell, people call all martial arts "karate".
They should make a category called Ring Sports or Sport Fighting or Full Contact Martial Arts.... MMA would confuse 9 out of 10 people, plus traditional martial artists would complain because they are ignorant. Just look at what they stand and fall for...... outdated Techniques!!!!!

No. I am a MMA fan and small time competitor, but it falls under the Heading of Martial Arts. It would be like having a separate category for Arena Football, World League (NFL Europe), College Football, etc.,...still football.

Imagine having a separate category for EACH martial art??!!!?? This would be absurd.

Well as long as they named it "MMA" or Mixed Martial Arts..and not "UFC" (since so many americans only know of the UFC)...i'd be happy. but honestly if they just had a kickboxing thread, I think it'd be suitable enough. Hell they could even just put in a category called "ring sports" and it'd be a good place for a lot of the "mma" type stuff.

With the growing popularity, I am surprised that they haven't. I would personally like it but then they would need to make a category for the most popular arts. That would be awfully redundant so I guess it's best the way it is but I hear you. I disagree with wish me dead, It is a legitimate sport if you just study it a little.

Why draw lines in the sand? There is enough space for everyone here.
MMA are MA.
I like to read about and answer both and don't really feel like clicking on another category to do so.

Seek style without style.

I do because I consider it more as a sport than martial arts.

I don't.

MMA is martial arts. truthfully they shouldn't even have a separate category for boxing.

This is not a martial arts website.

There are plenty of martial arts websites that do have separate categories for that.

It's over-rated and not really worth talkin about. It's not really a sport it's a form of physical violence!
