This action stems from your upbringing. If you were taught that using the bathroom is a very private thing then you are likely to be uncomfortable if people are around. Also in the instance where the relationship with someone is new, the discomfort would be because you are not yet accustomed to the person, however, this is likely to change as the relationship becomes more intimate.

Hear you?

It doesn't matter to me.

If they are doing what they are supposed to be doing, they will be doing the exact same thing as you. If they aren't using the bathroom, patrons should be aware that it is exactly that-a bathroom, meaning that they might hear someone pee. It's not the end of the world.

If you gotta go, you gotta go. If you hold it in then you're just asking for trouble. I think people should just swallow their pride and do it - it's a natural bodily function. Of course, I don't like people knowing how long I'm in there so I tend not to use it at people's houses (I try to go before I visit friends).

I don't have that problem. Bodily functions are natural and nothing to be ashamed of.
