There's a very good chance it's allergies. Skin allergies are very common in labs. Your vet can send out a blood sample to be analyzed to find out what she's allergic to. Common allergies in pets include fleas, pollen, dust, and food. Treatments can be a simple as giving her a bath using oatmeal shampoo once every 2-3 weeks, changing her diet, or giving her Benadryl. Other treatments usually for more severe cases include a monthly allergy vaccine or being put on the steroid Prednisone. Definitely talk to your vet since allergies in animals only get worse with age. Another possibility is that she just has dry skin. To help with this the bathing with the oatmeal shampoo every 2-3 weeks will help that. Either way consult your veterinarian before doing anything. Hope this helps and that she feels better!

It sounds like a food allergy..Make sure you are not feeding any food with corn, soy or beet pulp. Those are the major culprits. However, it could also be an allergy to something invironmental, such as carpet cleaners or grasses, air fresheners, etc..
I would first start with changing the food.
This is an excellent supplement to help her skin and reduce allergies> http://springtimeinc.com/product/88/2

If you don't see any fleas or flea dirt, take her to the vet. Like the others said, it could be allergies or something else. This is annoying for her so please don't delay taking her. She could develop raw spots if not treated and that can be painful.. Good luck to both of you!

check her skin condition. may be dry. it has been cold out and the heating in homes can create dry skin. don't give to many bathes as that strips a dogs skin of the oils it needs. and... be a friend, scratch her

Have you checked for fleas? If she don't have them she could be allergic to something. I would take her to the vet to see what is wrong. She also may have dry skin and it itches. Check it out.

Have you taken her to a vet...she may have fleas and the longer you wait the longer it takes to get rid of.. One of my dogs had an allergic reaction to flea bites.

this could be fleas....treat her with frontline plus.
this could be a food allergy- switch her to a holistic brand ( eagle pack, wellness)
it could be an allergic reacton to something you put on her- just to be safe use NO hartz products and anything they sell at walmart and drug stores.
