Mayorga wants Vargas to make the 147 required weight, but Vargas says he can't go below 160lbs - and of course Mayorga fired back at him a couple of days ago with his usual taunts. LOL! He's so great.

I didn't even know they were fighting. Thanks for the heads up Bossmac! At this point i think Vargas is all but finished as a serious contender. He just looks like he doesn't have it anymore and Mayorga is a dangerous fighter still. Even though Mayorga was KO'd by De La Hoya, he hit Oscar with a lot of good shots in that fight that may have KO'd a lesser fighter. And there is no way Vargas makes 147, his best weight was 154 and he struggled to make that weight, so Mayorga better get set to fight at 154 or 160 (probably 160) if he wants this fight to happen. I pick Mayorga by KO around the 6th round.

Is this true? Is the fight signed? I love it! Mayorga is a great showman for the sport. I love to watch him eating a pizza while weighing in or chugging a beer immediately after a fight. He is an exciting fighter who always comes forward and takes the fight to the opponent whether he is outmatched or not I hope he beats Vargas but he hasn't looked good in his last couple of fights. The good news is neither has Vargas so I'm going to stick by Mayorga and hope he is able to use his speed to beat Vargas to the punch and work the body in the early rounds so he can get a big decision or maybe even a late round knock out.

Fernando was never the same after Tito cracked his acorn. I remember Vargas since he was 15, and believe me he isn't half of what he once was. Still the half he has left should be able to get by Mayorga, if for no other reason that the size difference. Mayorga is coming up in weigh, and Vargas isn't going to risk drying out to come down. If the fight takes place at all, Vargas will be by far the bigger man.

Vargas by ko in the mid rounds.

so a recommendations because the entire body of career artwork , Vargas has a much extra appropriate resume, and is a much extra appropriate boxer. yet area of boxing is combating , so the area in this wrestle has to pass to a harder, better no holds barred type of fighter, I beleive that fighter is Mayorga. Vargas has been combating with some severe decrease back harm issues this positively gained't help his reason. In his genuine Vargas would have Murdered Mayorga! at modern-day Vargas is the further washed up of both. Mayorga is too reliable and loopy for Vargas at this factor. and that i actually do not care besides- yet i love boxing, and it does have some factor interest.

well judging by the last picture i saw of vargas, he looked like he weighed 200 pounds or something. and mayorga hasn't made welterweight in a couple of years now. mayorga's best weight is at welterweight though, and vargas has never been at welterweight before, not even in his prime. if the weight dropping doesn't knock him out, then mayorga will. mayorga still has a lot of power and with someone who has a leaky defense like vargas, hes going to destroy vargas. vargas shouldn't even be fighting anymore.

Vargas, even though Vargas is a shell of himself, at 160 he would own Mayorga. Mayorga has only one notable win and that was against an injured 154lb Vernon Forrest

Mayorga! Vargas is washed up. He got destroyed by Mosely who at 154 didn't carry his real power. Mayorga is not that good of a fighter but he does carry one hell of a punch, not to mention, he can take some too! It took De la Hoya and Tito a while bombing his culo with some devastating shots to drop him...Mayorga in less than 6rds!
