windows vista,playing downloaded games?

im having problems playin games ive downloaded,they seem jumpy when i play and other times i cant install them

unfortunetly mate windows vista seems to be incompatible with most games ,this may be largely due to the inclusion of microsofts direct x 10 in vista
this is why i have dual booted my p.c with windows xp,as vista is all well and good for using the internet but i have only managed to install 3 games up to now,and it wouldnt even install the halo demo,which is made by microsoft themselves
my advice is to try the comaptibilty wizard in vista but again this isnt 100% reliable,and the resolution has to be shrinked to 800x600
until microsoft sort this problem out ,vista will be shunned by users
try dual booting your p.c with your old xp disk,to do this you will have to re-install both vista and xp after creating 2 partitions(or more) and installing the oldest first(xp)on to c drive then install vista on d drive
then when you boot up you will be welcomed by the vista boot manager then pick the o/s you wish to use
this way you can play your games in xp while doing other applications in vista
note:in my experience i find it better if you install a extra hard drive(as slave) then partitioning your single master drive,then in theory you could take out that drive and put it in a new system
