The reason the lotions are not working is because the brands sold at Wal-Mart contain petroleum products and/or alcohol. I like the Hydrating Creme Extreme or if your hands are in water a lot I would suggest the Hydrating Mit (or something like that I can't remember exactly I'm at work and don't have it with me). But the Mit stuff puts a water resistant coating on your hands. These are the best products I have found. They are not cheap but they last longer and work better than anything else I have tried.

The cream made for Cow udders is Bag Balm-it works wonders on dry cracked hands. If you don't like a greasy feel there is Corn Husker's Lotion-a light gel which, also, helps against cracking. Try switching to a superfatted moisturizing soap to wash your hands such as Dove and when you do the dishes use a detergent that is very mild. Antibacterial soaps and cleaners can be very drying to hands.

I know this may sound kinda crazy but you can get a lotion from a feed store (you know the kind where farmers or people who have livestock shop) and ask for some bag balm. Open them to smell because some smell bad. It's actual use is for Dairy Farmers to stop cracking of milk cow udders in cold or dry weather. I have used it and it works great!

Massage your entire body with mustard oil in winter before taking your daily hot water bath. Your hands should not become red if the above regiment is fallowed for a week.

This sounds like eczema. You might want to google some pictures to see if that is what your problem is. There are different treatments, and you should see a dr to find out the best one for you

There is one kind that is especially good. I cant remeber the exact name, but I got it at Walmart. Ask the pharmasist about the cream they use for cow udders. He should know what you mean. it is awesome.
