I think I understand what you are saying. I believe that there is a God, as evidenced by someone creating something that has evolved into what we have now. I do not believe in religion and see religion and God as separate, and sometimes opposite, entities. Religion is about social control, the ultimate threat is that if you are not a conforming person than you will suffer from God, the micro manager who sees all that you do and is involved in everything that you do. Law can only do so much to control people and so we invent religion and dummy down the concept of God so that he is like a stern father who sees all. And also looks like us. Islam, as it is being applied by power hungry clerics, takes this practice to the Nth degree when they tell followers that God wants you to kill, even innocents, and that if you do God will reward for killing people. In the Middle East that means other Islamic believers who are not from that clerics power group and yet these people commit unspeakable acts in the name of Allah. Christianity and Judaism have done this as well at different times in history and in the US, Christian leaders attempt to merge the political system with religious views and those are diametrically opposite systems. Religions is about power. God is the creator but is not like a Chairman of the Board and those who view Him as such will be very surprised at the afterlife.

Unfortunately this type of attitude will give you the reward in the next life that this type of attitude deserves. I suspect that you also live the rest of your life with this same attitude that NOTHING really matters and so, what do you really do with your life.
It appears to me that even atheists search for some sort of meaning in their lives. Even if that purpose reaches no further than their families and loved ones.
But the "who cares?" attitude would imply a certain lack of any meaning. I hope that you are able to find something that gives your life meaning.
Good luck to you and God bless.

How sad life would be without any purpose. You are just a space filler then I suppose. I choose to live for the after life. God's Kingdom. Through experiencing this life I can prepare for it. What if I'm wrong? My life to me had meaning and I'd be in the same place you are only my life would have felt purposeful. If I'm right? Then you missed out on a golden oppurtunity by just "waiting to see".

It sounds to me like you believe, care and worship something.
You.
You don't care what happens when you're dead, so you aren't looking to make any impact on anyone's life. Just focusing on yourself.
Having fun...worshiping the "God of me" again.
Get others to stop. Stop what? Being selfish and introverted and boring. Why? Have you thought about starting your own church?

If everyone on this planet just had fun we would all die of starvation. You are a selfish fool who will never find happiness in just having fun. Why don't you try helping others for a change.

So, you are trying to get us to see things your way? Well, then take your own advice and just stop if that's what you really think we should also do.
To answer your initial question, I don't believe in a god, if that is the belief you are referring to.
People will always have opinions, and they will always share them. Just like the man in your avatar did, and did quite well.

That's you, and I'm me, and I see the work of beings that are bigger, smarter, and infinitely more patient than myself in this world. I always like to learn from people who are smarter than myself, so I try to learn from the Gods, too. I'm cool with other people being "apatheists"--my brother and SIL are among them. But I can't be one myself. The Divine is just much too obvious to me.

The point is that we are here for about 70 years. if indeed there is an eternal life, then it would be quite a bit more important to align your life so you can enjoy it.

You seem to care a great deal about why others care.
Hint: we ALL have egos and are trying to desperately to create an image for ourselves.

There is nothing wrong with believing. And, I must point out your hypocrisy. You are stating YOUR belief.. as in, you don't care. That's your belief. Right? And when having any belief, if it brings you joy, that is what life is about. Love.
