If this has been going on for a few days I would suggest taking her to see the vet. Without an actual exam no one can really tell you what's wrong. There's many possibilities, like heartworm or kennel cough which can both cause serious problems, but it could also be something less serious.
As for kennel cough, here's a link with some really good information. I also included a link about heartworms. http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_kennel_cough.html

Hope this helps!

Tracheobronchitis, commonly referred to as "kennel cough" is usually caused by the bacteria Bordetella bronchiseptica. It can also be caused by several viruses. Some vets feel that it is best not to treat this condition with antibiotics since it is almost always self limiting and the organism is a normal inhabitant of the upper airways. Treatment may lead to resistance problems and difficulty treating the most serious complication, pneumonia, if it occurs. So many dogs are very uncomfortable due to the severity of the cough that I think most vets do use antibiotics to treat this. I personally like sulfa/trimethoprim combination antibiotics such as Ditrim (Rx) or Tribrissen (Rx) or doxycycline but I suspect that many antibiotics work well for this condition -- and no antibiotic at all is OK most of the time. Use of a cough suppressant can make the dog a lot more comfortable, whether antibiotics are used or not.
Hope your doggie feels better soon.

Kennel cough is a contagious disease that dogs sometimes catch. It spreads easily from one dog to another, hence the name "kennel cough". It is curable but needs to be treated by a veterinarian. Also sometimes dogs can get injuries to their windpipes from choke collars or chains. They sometimes cough and gag from this. Or possibly something could be stuck in her throat. At any rate taking her to a vet is your best bet. Hope this helps!

Sounds either like Kennel Cough to me or Heartworms. Your dog needs to see a vet ASAP, as they both need medications to cure.

It definitely sounds like Kennel Cough. Take her to see the vet but call ahead so that they can keep you quarantined when you bring her in as Kennel Cough can be deadly to puppies.
