where I come from, we say buff (as in shining your shoes) ay (as in the first letter of the alphabet)
buff' ay

some people say boof' ay

Buh-fay or Boo-fay, either one is correct for "an all you can eat bar".
Buf-it is spelled the same way, means something else.
