As the saying goes, "God works in mysterious ways." So yes, God has certainly worked in the manner you described. It makes everything we do worth the challenge, don't you think?

There is only one real goal, and that is to go back home back to Godhead. That is what God wants.
God help achieving different material desires of the individual because that is what they want, but God does not want that, but He fulfill those desires as a father fulfill the childish desires of his foolish son.

I think I follow what you are saying....I think that He wants us to be successful (as would any father) and helps us along the way. I also think challenges, trials tribulations, obstacles etc that are there to help us learn and grow and become better people. I mean, its like exercising a muscle. Without opposition, the muscle would not grow. I think life is like that too; and God helps us grow with challenges and goals and obstacles...

Yes, so either he puts goals in your mind or he doesn't.

And if he does put a goal in your mind then it might be one that he intends for you to achieve or not achieve.

Yeah, that makes good sense.

*If* there was a god, I would hate it if he worked that way. To some schools of thought this would seem like a good way to teach someone, but I really doubt that it is -- well, a bit of back pedalling, it may be good for some people but it's definitely not for all.

the struggles are there to help you remember that without him you can do nothing and they also help you to not take everything you get for granted and yes sometimes they can be preperation for other larger goals

some people would say that's god, others would say it's just yourself doing something and learning from it. learning from your actions is a fun time.
