You can contract this disease through sexual intercourse, sharing dirty needles, accidential needle sticks, and from mother to baby during fetal development and breast feeding. The HIV/AIDS virus lives in body fluids, but you can only contract the virus through infected semem, vaginal secretions, and blood. There is not enough of the virus in sweat, tears, or saliva to contract the disease.

Most people think you can only contact Aids through sex. This is not true. Taking IV drugs and reusing a needle someone else has used (if they have HIV) can cause you to be exposed to HIV. Also body fluids like semen, breast mild, blood and vaginal secretions can be a reservoir for the virus. Your best bet is to ALWAYS know you are the only one who can protect YOU and do it. USE CONDOMS for ALL sex. Do not have sex with someone you do not know and even then do not take any chances.

Open sores. It is a blood disease that attacks your immune and lowers the white cell count. It could be something as sharing a needle with someone or a kiss if you both have open sores on your mouth. There are numerous ways one can contract this disease!

I agree with most of the others, it is a blood born disease that pretty much desttroys your immune system. They are coming up with more medical informaiton all the time on it. It is pretty much the same way you get Hepatitis B, through some form of infected blood.
