Acid Zebra's last question reminded me of this old question.
How did Lucifer choose evil? Who created that choice between good or evil?
If god created it, why can't he stand to be around his own creation?

Tribble Macher - how could he choose to sin in the first place? Did he create something from nothing...like God?

Apples II apples - that's a nice comparison. The only difference is that WW didn't punish the children for all eternity for giving in to Slugworth...who he sent to try and get them to do it in the first place! ;)

Irish - so, what Lucifer did wasn't a sin? Interesting. I've never heard anyone with that point of view before.
Thanks.

God created evil.

Isaiah 45:7 -

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

To see light you need darkness, as a candle 's light can not be seen at daylight, good deeds are nothing without evil to contrast.

So, God, created the evil for a purpose, sometimes we see it, some others not, but, he created, and he keeps it, as he makes no mistakes. But, again first of all, he needed a dark room where to put the light.

Evil was created with the introduction of sin. The first sin was the sin of disobedience for man. For Satan it was pride in believing he did not need God and actually wanted to be God. That's the way the story goes.

Evil is a concept created by humans to differentiate the beneficial from the harmful. It's a relative assessment, not an absolute one - not a force of nature in and of itself, or a force attributable to any natural or supernatural instigator.

God created Evil. Basically, Satan is God's equivilent of Willy Wonka's "Mr. Slugworth". Satan/Slugworth provide the children with temptation in order to see who is worthy of the ultimate prize.

I guess God did. You have to have good and evil just like you have to have day and night. We need both.
I don't think that god can not stand to be around his own creation but I don't know how to explain it. Sorry.

Evil is just the absence of good like dark is the absence of light.

"Let there be dark"
