What do you mean "top dog breed of 2006?" Who won a dog show, i.e., AKC/Eukanuba or Westiminster? Or, just the most popular? The 2006 Eukanuba Viewer's Choice is Geneva the German Shepherd Dog and the AKC/Eukanuba National Champion is James the English Springer Spaniel. I dont know about the dog shows which in my opinion have nothing to do with RL. I would think pitbulls cause everyone is into owning the ultimate breed:)

Labradors are still on top in the AKC registrations...However, there is a great pit bull site that claims that pit bulls are actually the number one..First, because the majority of them are not registered. and secondly, be cause they are registered as Am Staffs AND APBTs in two American registries.

Visit www.akc.org, I believe it was Labrador Retreivers (no suprise there)! Labs are awesome. I can't believe Yorkshire terriers made it in at #2.
