It probably has a restore partition, check for something that says "Press to Start Recover" or something similar. It may not say it (my Acer doesn't) so I ended up having to check the manual. Check the manual to see if indeed there is this feature and it will tell you how to launch the restore partition.

Also, a quick way to see if you have one is to go into My Computer and see if there are two hard drives listed there, if there are and one of them is named "Data" or "Recovery" then you have a restore partition. This is not all telling. Some recovery partitions are hidden from the system but in most cases are not.

If you don't have a recovery partition, you'll have to get the Windows XP CDs from Dell and they will charge you a small fee (around $20) for them.

Eugh....rather hard to do that. You can install the factory cd's then go thru the Control Panel and uninstall what you don't want...or wipe the hard drive clean and install a fresh copy of Windows XP..hope u have one.
