Who has access to the library? I am looking for a copy of an obituary which is there but I am not able to look at since I do not have a library card. The name is Ernest Whitfield 06/09/1906 to 03/23/56. The obituary was in the paper on 03/24/56.

Hey xxkcfanxx,

That would be unusual. Normally a library card is to check out books. If there is something on microfilm or a current newspaper, you should be able to look at it.

Also, I have called, (very nicely), libraries for Obits many times. The librarians are most helpful. You could ask if you could make a small donation to the library also, they may appreciate that.

The other alternative is to look online, use some of these tools below:

Another option is the Pueblo email list, that sometimes does include local residents, who enjoy helping access things that otherwise are hard to get to. One guy on the Dallas list regularly does volunteer copies from the main library, for both obits and even death certificates.
No cost to join the list. If nothing else, someone might share with you how they have accessed info from that county.
