My friend is getting remarried to a man who has two kids and she has two of her own as well. They need to trade in a car so they all can fit in one vehicle. What is the best 6+ passenger vehicle but has to be around 10-15000?

The greatest family mover of all time is the Minivan! yes there are SUVs that carry 6+ people, but they are not as comfortable or as space efficient as minivans. Oh and the best part is usually they have better gas mileage compared to SUVs.

In my opinion
the two best used minivans are the Honda Odyssey and toyota sienna
Budget minded- Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan is a good buy jus dont go for the AWD alternative and you will be fine.

Honestly, I do have an SUV (a QX56) and have also had a Ford Expedition. I have 3 kids, 2 dogs- but surprisingly I would vote for a Dodge Minivan. The storage is MUCH better, they're easier to park, drive, gas is cheaper, and back to the storage part- when you do take the seats out to haul something big, a minivan holds MORE than an SUV would with the seats down. SUV's cost more to buy, fix and maintain. You can get a lot more for your money buying a good used minivan.

Also, buying an SUV is a huge financial obligation- they de-value quickly and as i said before- the gas prices are a lot. I live in the midwest and it costs about 60-70 to fill up each time. Tires are more, brakes are more- you get the picture.

So yes, I would say a nice minivan- lots of good points for a bigger family on a budget.

I would suggest a Mazda5, it's sort of a smaller minivan vehicle. I have a friend with one. It has a fold/hide 3rd row bench, although when it's up, it won't fit much, just a few bags of groceries. Although they start around $19K, you could get a one year old used one around $15-16K at this point.

Ford Freestyle also seats 6-7, but those just came out recently, so even used you won't find one under $20K, but overall they rate high in reliability as well.

Anything older, you could possible get a Ford Explorer, they sit 7, although you'll be using more fuel, but becaused truck based SUV's are being hit by gas prices, you could get a 2-3 year old one for about $15K because they are depreciating quickly because the car-based crossovers are more popular.

A nice used Suburban, I have a 1984, with a 6.2 diesel(they use the 6.5 in the newer diesels). It has been great, it gets 20mpg, and I have 308,000 miles on the original engine and it is still going strong. The gasoline models are good as well, though you will lose a little fuel economy, and you won't get quite as much life out of the engine, though when you do replace the engine the gasoline engine is only 2/3 the cost of the diesel.

Not only will it seat 9 people, it can also be used to haul heavy loads, lumber, trailor etc....

Passenger, storage room, and protection are often on the suited of our lists. we've bigger roads and parking areas so we've bigger automobiles on trouble-free. Now with bigger gasoline expenditures, human beings are commencing as much as look at gasoline performance greater whilst procuring a motor vehicle. In regard to protection, interior the climate of Europe I somewhat have been, great automobiles have a velocity cut back of 80kilometers in step with hour. there is not any such cut back on semi automobiles interior the U.S. i could plenty quite be in an SUV next to a semi going 85mph than a 2 seater sensible motor vehicle that he can not see in any of his mirrors. yet, now that many American motor vehicle companies are making hybrid and different effectual SUV's it may be some greater years in the previous greater of those are in use. optimistically quickly we are able to maintain our love of extensive automobiles and nonetheless be effectual on the comparable time.
