Ok, so I have a crush on my male friend. And we've been friends for about a year now. And at first i could never see myself likeing him like this. But after we started hanging out more, it became apparent that i had feelings for him. Then about 2 months ago we started casually dating, and also went to a dance together. But about a month ago he told a mutual friend that he doesnt like me anymore. I tried to be "just friends" bcause i wanted to keep our friendship. But its too hard! And i think he knows that i still like him, and we still hang out a lot. What should i do? And prom is coming up soon and i really want to go with him, but i dont want him to freak out, and i could say "it could just be as friends, nothing more" - even though i would want something more. What should i do? Or how do i ask him/hint at him to ask me to prom? Help Me!

The first thing that you need to do is really think about how you feel about this guy... Do you like him as a real boyfriend or do you like him as a friend with privileges... Sometimes when you get involved with a guy that you have been friends with for a long time it's hard to distinguish the difference... If you really want to go to prom with him the best thing to do is figure out what you want then if you realize that he is just a friend then ask him to go with you as a friend if you do really like him then talk to him about it. Tell him that you really like him and that you would like things to go a little further with him... If the feeling in not mutual then at least you know from him and maybe he would still like to go to prom with you... If not you can offer that if he doesn't have anyone to go with him to prom that you would love to be his date and that you totally respect that he doesn't have the same feeling for you but that most of all would still love to be his friend not matter what happens. Your crush should have not told his friends that he does not like you when in fact that he does to a certain degree, it sounds like he is being dishonest with his friends and dishonest with you and you should not put up with that, It is a good thing to keep a friendship until you know it will not be a major risk of turning out poorly, If he wants to take you to prom then he will ask you, and if you ask him then he might say no or yes depending what his mood is that day. It certainly would not hurt to ask him if he is going to prom and if he is going with anyone, just don't rush things because then you will have more problems then you need and you don't want that. so just see what he says.

If you can't be just friends and that's all he wants then you better not do it. It won't work out the way you want it to and you will both not be happy with it in the end.

well you cant really make someone like you....you guys tried it and atleast you guys can still be friends but if you keep pushing it you will probably lose his friendship also...maybe that feeling you have for him is just that you guys are such good friends that you totally feel comfortable with him...
