If a girl looks away A LOT (eyes dart downwards) smiles slightly, and starts to fidget with something, would a guy take this as a positive or negative signal. What message does it give off? Guys, how would you respond to it?

depends on the situation and the topic at hand. I make a friend of mine do this often but it usually takes me saying something sweet, or complimenting to her before i get the reaction. Usually when she does it I know it means she's thinking about me and our conversation. Girls are confusing and guys are not going to be able to take a message just from your body language. I would say more positive than negative. You would show interest but your message is that you are very shy and need some help in the conversation. You would rather he do the talking.

I would take it as a sign of being shy & nothing more. In a "negative" aspect I would say this girl isn't very confident, as eye contact is sign of confidence in someone.
I wouldn't be rude or anything, but I would continue the converstation as normal, & make eye contact with her when I spoke.

to a guy this would be a positive signal, chances are he would think you were shy or acting shy. if he isn't shy he would take the first move to meet you or get to know you better. if he seems nice enough , give it a chance and try talking to him. good luck.
