and let's be specific here. in both instances those elections were entirely produced by us goverenment. the candidates were selected by the us, the elections were presided over by the us. yes those elections were as much if not more of a sham than the last two in the usa.

in afghanistan a particular warlord and his supporters were selected to run things. this group was only one of about six major factions. in iraq, again one faction was promoted by us interests despite being relatively unpopular by the people who live there..

people refuse to think outside the box. there are issues that are not discussed publicly. people think "iraq" or "afghanistan" or "iran" as if these were discrete, areas not connected to other issues. but that is not the case. this is all one large playing field and the major players don't live there.

One of the first steps toward stability is a stable/honest government... or the closest they can achieve in that part of the world. Opiate growth has been cut significantly, mostly due to the incoming government... so I'd say they're on their way. These things just take time. Blacks were only able to vote here around 60 years ago and 100 years ago we were still pretty lawless! Give em time!

We'd probably do alot better in Afghanistan and Iraq if the government wasn't trying to fight them politically correct. You can't expect soldiers to win a war with their hands tied. They should ban the media, they're one of the worst problems. I also know for a fact that you can't trust everything you read in the papers, and everything you hear on the news.

Don't you know, we are looking for oil! There is a large reserve there that will be tapped and pumped to the Caspian Sea and then loaded onto crude oil bulk carriers. Just look at the huge highway that we built there that just seems to go nowhere.
