they only say ( hostile fire ) , while in another places they mention details like hostile fire - IED or hostile fire - small arm fire ...etc

It depends on the media's interest level. These days Anna Nicole Smith makes better news than some Marines under fire. Don't worry, it'll be back to normal once she's buried.

Most casualties that say just 'hostile fire' were probably serving under a Marine Corps command. The Marines do not as a rule release details for operational security reasons. They don't want the attackers( fill in your desired word here, enemy, insurgent, terrorist etc.) to know how effective or ineffective their methods are.
