You are not required to file because you did not meet the minimum income filing requirement for a dependent. In other words, you didn't make enough money. The filing requirement for a dependent is $5,150. You may elect to file, however, to get a refund of any federal income taxes withheld from your pay. Hope that helps!

DO IT! look at the bright side, you will most likely get something back, even if it is a few bucks. Just play it safe and file. You will get practice for when you have to do it as an adult. No matter how much income you make, you should ALWAYS file taxes.

Since your income from wages is less than $5,150, you are not required to file a tax return. If you had income taxes withheld from your pay, you should file a return to get a refund of those withholdings.
