Eating an apple seed or two won't hurt you, but a VERY large quantity might. Apple seeds contain hydrogen cyanide, which is a poison, but you'd probably have to eat pounds and pounds of the seeds to get sick, and you'd have to chew them all. I don't think you really need to worry.

No, it's not harmful. Some people will warn never to do it unless the apple is organic, but I don't worry about that. I eat apple seeds occasionally.

They have a flavor that's intriguing to me...no other word to describe it.

I like to slice an apple cross ways so the insides are in a star shape and layer them on peanut butter and molasses sandwiches....mmmm...seeds and all.

Two seeds will not hurt you, but according to a TLC show adult who consume 50 apple seeds at one time can damage his/her the body. The seeds would tear up your stomach and according to them around 70 can kill you, because of arsenic and hydrogen cyanide found in the seeds.
At this episode that I watched somehow a a 10 year old boy swallowed as a dare in school around 30 apple seeds. He became violently sick around an hour latter. He was taken to the ER and almost died. They found large dose of arsenic in his body. He barely survived. They latter explained about seed consumption and how it could kill. Apparently sour apples seeds would have more traces of arsenic then the sweet ones. In ancient times the Saxons used crushed apple seeds in apple cider to kill their enemies as historical records show.

Apple seeds do have arsenic in them. Maybe that is why they are so bitter. You would have to eat a bushel to do harm.

If you were to swallow the seeds, you'd be fine. I do NOT recommend chewing them, though...they are the most vile tasting things I've ever known. Ugh..

Not at all. They don't get digested completely so they may be a tad painful in a few hours, if ya know what I mean.
