in the uk they remain active for 3 years, after 5 years they are removed totally. after 3 years they dont count when adding up your points if you get a new conviction, you're banned if you reach 12 points within 3 years

In UK:
4 years from conviction if reckless/dangerous
11 years if offence is drink-driving/drug-driving
If you total 12 points or more in 3 years, you face disqualification
New drivers: If within the first 6 months of driving you total 6 points, you face disqualification.

For insurance purposes, your record is checked going back three years. For employment purposes, your record is checked going back five years. If you have alcohol related violations, whether they were reduced down to a reckless or neg driving, they remain on your record for a minimum of ten years. Points are not put on a driving record, the point system is used by insurance companies.

Depends on the laws in your state. Here in Michigan, ANY ticket that has points attached to it stays on your record for 3 years (you can get a ticket for impeding traffic in Michigan and it's 0 points so it doesn't go on your record).

i attempted to have mine taken off final year yet became instructed to attend yet another year - meaning it rather is 4 YEARS. then you quite could fill in a clean licence utility style to get the factors bumped off and a replace clean licence.
