Depends on your definition. Strictly speaking short term memory is very short indeed, and not short as in a couple of days. Long term memory therefore kicks in in a very short time. So people who think they have short term memory probs are actually just having 'memory' probs.
I learned this at big school.
But I still can never remember what it is i went to the shop for!

yes i am 44 now and my memory is sure not up to snuff. at least by my younger days standards.
i just finished hunting for my wallet panic i had lost it but i knew the night before i had made a note of where i put it .
i have read that some memory games just games are good for the mind keep it working better and learning to play an instrument or learning a new language is fantastic way to keep sharp even into the 90's

Yeah my short-term memory is shot. Ive heard its a combination of things the main one being lack of sleep. I've heard Vitamin B12 and Ginkgo Biloba can improve it. Thats what I plan on taking.....that is if can REMEMBER to take, lol.

Yes. I have noticed a difference. I put it down to being a parent and having way too many things to try to remember at one time.

in some ways its better because I have strategies for remembering things which I didnt have when I was 18. I do find that if I play sudoko and do crosswords that my mind is much more focussed
