I think you mean what do people have against Muslims?
In that case, the answer would probably be that the people have a problem with the Muslims' religion.
If we look in the holy book of the Muslims, the Quran, we find the following gem:
First, the Muslim is admonished to slit the throats of the unbelievers:
Quran Sura 47:4: "Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others."
No problem if the Muslim kills himself in the process. The Quran continues, "And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain."
For example, on November 23, 1937, Saudi Arabia's King Ibn Saud told British Colonel H.R.P. Dickson: "Our hatred for the Jews dates from God's condemnation of them for their persecution and rejection of Isa (Jesus) and their subsequent rejection of His chosen Prophet." He added "that for a Muslim to kill a Jew, or for him to be killed by a Jew ensures him an immediate entry into Heaven and into the august presence of God Almighty."
Now, in case you think that the religion has changed, in a Friday sermon (khutba) broadcast by official Palestinian Authority television on May 13, 2005, Sheik Ibrahim Mudeiris told the Muslim brothers that one day Islam will rule America, Britain, and the entire world-and wipe out the Jews.
He said, "We have ruled the world before, and by Allah, the day will come when we will rule the entire world again. The day will come when we will rule America. The day will come when we will rule Britain and the entire world – except for the Jews. The Jews will not enjoy a life of tranquility under our rule, because they are treacherous by nature, as they have been throughout history. The day will come when everything will be relived of the Jews - even the stones and trees which were harmed by them. Listen to the Prophet Muhammad, who tells you about the evil end that awaits Jews. The stones and trees will want the Muslims to finish off every Jew."

I would be the first to admit that I do not understand Islam any more than i understand christianity. I think that peoples perceptions are in someway formed by what they see in the Media, the main problem with this is that News shows only broadcast the negative aspects like the violence, bloodshed and hate. this is due to the fact that for some reason this is what the public want to see. I do agree that in most cases the actions of the view unfortunately tarnish everyone, if I was asked to have a muslim arab stay for a month as long as he/she was a nice person wouldnt bothe rme in the slightest.

Look whom you are dealing with.
The Quran is non-contextual and relies on the Bukhari to paint its backdrops (the top 2 most ‘holy’ Islamic books). These teachings are prevalent throughout the book.
Judge the following for yourself.
Quran 8:60 “Infidels should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them.”
Bukhari [4:52260]: “The Prophet said, ‘If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him!’”
Quran 5:51 “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.”
Bukhari [4:52:177]: Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say, "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"
Though the Islamic Allah wants Muslims to kill all non-Muslims, many Muslims are not doing so at this moment (with disappointment from the fundamentalist Islamists) because they are now enjoying themselves, some afraid of reprisals. Don't think for a moment that Muslims are peaceful. if they seem to be, they are actually non-practicing Muslims.
Perhaps the asker can list 25 of the 50 different types of Islams that she mentions. Please!

Most of the time people are content to operate on the basis of polar dyads. It's the "Good guy vs Bad Guy" syndrome. It saves people a great deal of effort, since they don't have to actually think about people, but rather quickly lump them into a category and close the door.
As a long-time teacher of English as a Second Language, I have had the opportunity to meet Muslims from Africa and the Arab nations. The people I have met were pleasant, cheerful, hard-working and studious.
I have always admired their participation in the fasting restrictions of Ramadan. I had a Muslim friend whom I worked with and we often drove home together. During Ramadan, when the sun went down, we would stop and have something to eat together.
He is always welcome in my home as are several other Muslim friends.

I don't dislike Arabs, nor do I dislike Muslims. I dislike the religion of Islam. Big difference there. People are individuals, and that's how I see them.
And I don't like to stay in the home of people I don't know. However, hypothetically speaking - assuming that I know enough of the person to know they are not a danger to me and will respect me in my home, then I would let just about anyone stay with me if they needed a place to stay.

Betty, I love you. Yes, you speak the truth when you say all Muslims are not murderers; nor are all Christians or Jews or Atheists. Of course, some Arabs ARE Christians or Jews, or even Atheists, so I reckon you are talking about Muslims in general.
And yes, there is nothing in the Quran that mandates killing, nor is there in the Bible, though a whole lot of murdering occurs, mostly ordered by god.
My own suggestion would be to shove all those ancient belief systems into the sewer where they belong. Obviously your own belief is too sincere to allow this option, and I do respect your sincerity, especially as it points to tolerance of other beliefs.

I don't dislike anyone because of the color of their skin! I think that some Christians have a problem with the religion because it simply is not their religion, which is dumb. I would have no problem having a Muslim Arab staying in my home or me staying in theirs, as long as they were willing to learn and teach.

Betty has stated that the Quran does not call for killing.
Perhaps Betty has never studied the Quran, which in fact calls upon the faithful to kill disbelievers in a cruel fashion:
Sura 5:33: "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they will have an awful doom."

When you say you are a certain religion and then you people who say they are the same religion come to my country and kill my people--using the name of your God, what do you expect.
The new song is, it is only a few extremists that do those things.
How is it, at work I spoke to a Islamic woman and she said kill every last Jew. Does that sound like a wonderful thing to say? NOTICE THE WORD KILL.
