I took a correspondence course through ICS Canada. If you are not in Canada, you can also look at the Association of Bridal Consultants because they offer a Wedding Planner course through their association. After you finish the course, seriously look at starting a website because that is where I find I get most of my clients from. Here are two links - one for ICS Canada and one for the Association of Bridal Consultants:

http://www.icslearn.ca
http://www.bridalassn.com

Incidentally, the course materials that are given to students of the ICS course come from the Association of Bridal Consultants so it's the exact same course. It just depends on where you are located as to which is better for you due to the prices. If you want to check out my website, look at my profile - there's a link there to it.

I'm not sure, but I think you can take classes on like those online school like University of Phoenix and South University and stuff. You get a diploma when you finish and you get certified to actually own the business.

I have a site I hope helps you: http://www.topweddingsites.com/become-a-wedding-planner.html

Wish ya the best!
