I am trying to understand their point of view. Do you think the world was a better place to live 2000 years ago, how about 1000 years ago, perhaps 500 or 250 what about 125 years ago, maybe 60 years ago.. 30 years ago?

Where is the basis that the world is only getting worst? I see that it is becoming a better place, am I wrong?

I think technology has (obviously) advanced significantly, but society has devolved just as much.

Humanity, as a whole, is circling the drain.

How many abortions were there 30 years ago or gay unions
God was more important then, now you have individuals that question their own and His purpose and existence.
The further we are away from the Lord the worse it will get because in a secular society the human person decide for themselves what is good and what is evil irrespective of any authority above or beyound ourselves thus becoming enslaved to sin. Sin is celebrated today as something good. Look at hollywood.

No, there is still balance. Some people see bad things getting worse and assume the world is getting worse. They don't look at the bad things disappearring or good things getting better.
Was the world better while 3/4 of the popuation was dying from the black plague? Or when families were being kidnapped and sold into slavery?

Your optimism is just fine - along with all the bad stuff that's happening in these last days we also have promises of lots of good things - like God's kingdom on earth just growing (Dan 2). If you can focus on those good things - then life is all that much happier for you.

I think what's most different today isn't the actions of people so much as the public acceptance of those actions - you know the whole confusion of what is right being called wrong, and what is wrong being called right.

I don't think it matters what period you live in. It's human nature to create boundaries, to disagree with other races/religion.. etc. If there are no race and no religion, this world will be a better place. But then again, human will find other things to fight/argue about anyway. It's sad :(

Illegal and mind altering drugs are much more common. Is that good? Health "care" as a % of GDP keeps rising. Is that good? Government schools are brainwashing people into moral relativism, and evolutionism. Is that good? (I would prefer about 60 years ago)

I think they mean more immoral. Which just means people are becoming more tolerant of things that aren't there business anyway. I can't think of another time I'd like to live, except maybe during the cambrian explosion. I'd give up my modern comforts for that experience.

it changes with time and perception...what do you think the answer would have been during the
"Black death", WW1, WW2. The world has gone through a lot and it always will. Is it worse I don't think so, but it's not getting better.

Kill your God, Free your mind.
